In the heart of North Norfolk’s rolling fields, Bircham Windmill looks the same today as it did over 100 years ago. With only a small number of windmills left, Bircham Mill is considered one of the best that’s still remaining and is the only windmill in working order in North Norfolk that’s open to the public.
While on holiday in North Norfolk you can climb the five floors right up to the top of the windmill and on a windy day you can also see the sails and the milling machinery turning.
Children can try out their baking skills in the Baking Corner, while the busy on-site bakery makes their own rolls and loaves of bread for you to take back to your self-catering accommodation.
There is plenty for all the family, children can stroke the goats and feed the sheep or the whole family can explore the Norfolk Countryside thanks to the on-site cycle hire with various routes to follow for one-hour, two-hours or all day.
The Tea Room serves a selection of homemade cakes, scones and light lunches. While the gift shop sells the flour produced by the mill as well as other speciality flours and their own sheep’s cheeses.
