The Lodge Old Hunstanton

46 Old Hunstanton Road, Old Hunstanton, PE36 6HX
Tel: 01485 532896

Just a short walk from your accommodation awaits this welcoming and unbeatable local pub. Serving amazing real ales, hand-picked seasonal wines along with morning coffee and afternoon tea (with superbly indulgent home-made cakes, of course), this is the perfect stop off once you've played your game of golf or sampled the sea salt air on the beach. Offering a seasonal menu with plenty of local produce, meat, fish and seafood and a relaxed atmosphere, you'll find roaring fires on chilly days and a relaxing verandah with children's play area when the days are warm. The perfect spot to eat, drink and be merry, all year round.

Briarfields Titchwell

Main Road, Titchwell, PE31 8BB
Tel: 01485 210742

A short drive along the coast, nestled between RSPB Titchwell and Royal West Norfolk Golf Course, lies this hidden gem. With a seasonal menu that takes the best of the coast's ingredients, Briarfields' kitchen team create amazing dishes with everything on offer from a light snack in the snug to a three-course celebratory menu in its spacious dining room. Indulge in Briarfields' Posh Afternoon Tea, with sandwiches, cakes, scones and mini desserts presented on a three-tier plate, or enjoy the freshest catch of the day while the children play in the garden's large play area, overlooking the nearby salt marshes.

The Neptune

85 Old Hunstanton Road, Old Hunstanton, PE36 6HZ
Tel: 01485 532122

For something completely different, this fine dining restaurant serves modern British food. Using local ingredients, owner chef Kevin Mangeolles offers a creative seasonal menu served in unhurried surroundings – a combination that has won The Neptune 3 AA rosettes and a Michelin star.

Lighthouse Café

Lighthouse Close, Old Hunstanton, PE36 6EL
Tel: 01485 532242

No frills but the perfect ingredients of tea, breakfast, freshly cooked light meals and homemade cake make this one of our favourite stops after a walk on the beach. Canine family members are welcomed with a bowl of water and a mattress to rest awhile after all that coastal bounding around.

The Old Boathouse Café

50 Sea Lane, Old Hunstanton Beach, PE36 6JN
Tel: 01485 532931

Another pet-friendly beach hotspot with a grand menu, despite its tiny size. Serving a great cooked breakfast, super sandwiches (we defy you not to devour its bacon, brie and caramelised onion sandwich), jacket potatoes, omlettes, chips, fantastic cakes and ice creams, this has all you could want and more from a beach café. Located next to the RNLI Hunstanton Lifeboat Station, you can also rent beach huts here.

28-30 Greevegate, Hunstanton PE36 6AA
Tel: 01485 534565

Sometimes there’s nothing more needed than proper fish and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Supafry has the lot and also offers a pre-order service, so you can order as you come off the beach or course and be tucking in as soon as you pick-up.

French's Fish & Chips

The Quay, Wells Harbour, Wells-next-the-sea NR23 1AH
Tel: 01328 710396

Another favourite for when you are enjoying a day on the coast road, French’s is something of a local landmark. Located directly opposite the harbor, we suggest a take away paired with a glass of wine or beer from pub next door, sitting on the harbour wall, watching the world go by. It’s the sort of moment holidays are made for.

Beach Café

Beach Road Wells-next-the-sea NR23 1DR
Tel: 01328 713055

Fabulous walks along Wells beach to Holkham. Park your car at this little café (fee payable) and work up an appetite with a walk taking in the wonderful beach views. Remember your camera for the traditional beach hut photograph. Return to enjoy the delights of this café which has a lovely log burner during the winter months.

Wiveton Hall Farm Café, Shop & Fruit Farm

Wiveton (near Holt) NR25 7JE
Tel: 01263 740515

On the coast road between Wells and Cromer, be sure to stop, visit the Hall, pick your own fruit and enjoy refreshments in this colourful café that uses seasonal ingredients fresh from the farm.

Back to the Garden Shop

Delicatessen, Café & Restaurant, Letheringsett, Near Holt NR25 7JJ
Tel: 01263 715996

Whether you want to buy some yummy food from the delicatessen or eat in the café/restaurant, this café is not cheap but serves delicious, locally sourced, upmarket café food and cakes.

Cookies Crab Shop & Café

Salthouse, Near Holt NR25 7AJ
Tel: 01263 740352

More than just a shellfish shop, Cookie's is quirky and serves a selection of platters, salads and sandwiches. Food may be eaten inside, in the garden overlooking the salt marshes or taken away. Take your own beer or wine to enjoy with your meal. There is limited seating space so phone ahead to book a table.
